Hello Im Tasha and I have 2 children. Lauren my oldest will be 2 this month but Emily my youngest is only 5 months old. Although there is only a year and a bit between them times have changed in relation to "weaning" with Lauren it was reccomended that you wean between 4 and 6 months however I have been informed that I should now wait untill Emily is at least 6 months because their stomach's are too immature! She is such a hungry baby and  I dont see why I should leave Emily another month, Lauren has had no problems and she was weaned at 4 months!

If you have a baby the same age I would be interested in hearing what you think/have done.

Many Thanks

Hi

I waited 6 months to start feeding DD solids, just based on the research that has been done regarding immature digestive systems in infants.

my daughter is now nearly 7 mths, she was a hungry baby so i spoke with my health visitor and she advised me to wean early. my baby was 19 weeks when i put her on solids. most experts actually say no younger than 4 mths (17 weeks) I used a book called contented baby book of weaning by Gina ford it's brilliant, tells you right from what to start weaning them on right up to 12 mths old. would recommend it.  Smiley

Hi- I am actually trying for a baby but have been on the net quite a bit and found a really good article on weaning onto solids on a website- think it was called gurgle.com seemed to be good. Nice to read all these forum chats as new to this and have gained a little bit more of an insight into what to expect! Alex
