Hi all,

Does anyone know of any lists that help with shopping for a new baby? I need to know what items are "essential" to start setting up a nursery and buy useful things first. Found a good one at babytimeonline that can be printed out. Anymore out there?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give,

Shabby.

Hi there.

Well you need a cot, pushchair, car seat, feeding kit.
I bought a BIG set from Avent and I used everything.  Yes it was expensive (£100), but it saved money in the long run.
I did also get given things like a puschair, changing unit.  If you're on a budget, look through a local paper.  There's always someone getting rid of baby kit...

Further to my earlier post babytimeonline have reorganised their website to provide reviews and information of baby products. The essentials list is, I've been reliably informed, being redesigned as a download to help parents shop for their baby. An excellent new feature is the regular updates of offers, sales, discounts and clearance baby items on the web and in the UK.

Hi there

If you are going to bottle feed the best bottles are Dr Browns, they are specially designed anti colic bottles and the only ones that work. I tried Avent and Mam but they are both bad for airbubbles and giving babies sore tummies. You can get Dr Browns from most places now, boots, babiesrus and asda etc they are slightly more expensive but are well worth it !!
