Help - my 7 month old used to sleep through the night since he was biorn, however, a couple of months ago he began waking and has now got to the stage where he can sometimes wake hourly.  It all began when he was teething and would wake in pain so I had to respond to him - it seems though that he cottoned on that I was there and won't snap out of it now.  I've always followed all the advice and never picked him up, kept the room dark, don't play/make eye contact etc but nothing seems to work. I have only ever put my hand in the cot to comfort him - however that seems to be his equivalent of picking him up and he won't settle again until my hand is in the cot - if I don't do it he screams blue murder until he is physically sick - help - what am I doing wrong?Huh  Any suggestions??? Huh

Hi

Sorry you're going through this, we did with out dd as well... in the end we made it worse when we went in there, so we had to let her cry for a while which I hated.  She became really disrupted from teething - we would end up getting her up through the night sometimes and put some bonjela on her gums and hold her until she got drowsy and then put her down.

There's some info at www.ebabycentre.com/bdsleeping.htm

I hope he gets into his good sleeping habits again soon for you.
